栗栖さんは、SLOW LABELというNPOで、企業や職人と障害者とクリエイターをつなぎ、ものづくりや場づくりを行っている。障害は社会の側のバリアであることが多く、障害者の側だけでなく、テクノロジーやアートを使い、あらゆる人が活躍できる社会の実現を目指している。多様性を受け入れる社会のためになにができるかという林さんの問いに対して、山中さんは、量産を前提としている現在のものづくりの仕組みから多様性を前提としたものづくりへの転換を提言する。山中さんは3Dプリンタを使用した「アディティブマニュファクチュアリング」に着目し、個々の人にカスタマイズされたものをつくる未来がくるだろうと予測する。また、動きの自然さは絶対精度ではなく、つながりの自然さによって生ずることから、3Dカムという仕組みを開発してさまざまな動きを実現しており、機械的な精度から人にとってどのような精度が必要なのかを見ていくのが次のデザインを目指している。工業社会のカンウンターパートとして、個人がいろいろなものをつくっていくことで違うものづくりの方法を考えようという「ソーシャルファブリケーション」と工業側からのあらゆる人向けに量産するがひとつひとつ違うものをつくろうという「マスカスタマイゼーション」が両輪となることが今後の解決策となるだろうと述べ、今後、多様性に対応したものづくりへと移行するだろうと語っている。

Chiaki Hayashi
Chiaki Hayashi is the co-founder and is currently the Representative Director of Loftwork Inc. After graduating from Boston University with a degree in Journalism, she co-founded Loftwork inc. in year 2000. She manages the operation of the company’s creative platform Loftwork.com which has 25,000 creators registered, FabCafe which is a cafe with digital fabrication tools, and a material-centered co-working office MTRL. She is currently the Liaison to the Director of the MIT Media Lab, a panel of the Good Design Awards. She has recently founded “Hidakuma” which aims to rebuild nature and local creativity in Gifu, and serves as the President and CEO.
山中俊治
デザインエンジニア／東京大学大学院情報学環教授。1982年東京大学工学部卒業後、日産自動車を経て，1987年フリーのデザイナーと して独立。1994年リーディング・エッジ・デザインを設立。2008～12年慶應義塾大学教授、2013年より東京大学教授。
デザイナーとして腕時計から鉄道車両に至る幅広い工業製品をデザインする一方、技術者としてロボティクスや通信技術に関わる。大学では義 足や感覚に訴えるロボットなど、人とものの新しい関係を研究している。2004年毎日デザイン賞受賞、ドイツIF Good Design Award、グッドデザイン賞受賞多数。2010年「Tagtype Garage Kit」がニューヨーク近代美術館パーマネントコレクションに選定。

Shunji Yamanaka
Shunji Yamanaka is a design engineer and professor at the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies, University of Tokyo. After graduating from the University of Tokyo in 1982, he worked at Nissan before becoming a freelance designer in 1987. He founded Leading Edge Design in 1994. He taught at Keio University from 2008 to 2012, before joining the University of Tokyo in 2013. As a designer, his work includes everything from wristwatches to trains, while his work as an engineer includes robotics and communications. His academic research investigates new relationships between humans and objects, such as prosthetic limbs and robots that appeal to the senses. His many awards include the Mainichi Design Award in 2014, iF Product Design Award in Germany, and a Good Design Award. In 2010, his Tagtype Garage Kit was added to the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
栗栖良依
「日常における非日常」をテーマに、アートやデザインの領域に収まらない自由な発想で、異分野・異文化の人や地域を繋げ、新しい価値を創造するプロジェクトを多方面で展開。2008年より、過疎化の進む地域で住民参加型パフォーマンス作品を制作。10年、骨肉腫を患ったことがきっかけで、右下肢機能全廃。障害福祉の世界と出会う。11年より、スローレーベル ディレクター。ヨコハマ・パラトリエンナーレ2014 総合ディレクター。スロームーブメント総合演出。
Yoshie Kris
Yoshie Kris creates projects that connect different people and communities across various fields in art and design on the theme of discovering the extraordinary in the everyday. Since 2008, she has been involved with producing community performances in areas with declining populations. In 2010, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and lost the lower part of her right leg, which then led her to encounter welfare services for the disabled. She has been the director of the SLOW LABEL since 2011 and also served as general director of Yokohama Paratriennale 2014.
