1978年広島県生まれ。陸上スプリント種目の世界大会で日本人として初のメダル獲得者。2001年エドモントン世界選手権および2005年ヘルシンキ世界選手権において、男子400メートルハードルで銅メダル。シドニー、アテネ、北京と3度のオリンピックに出場。男子400メートルハードルの日本記録保持者（2016年8月現在）。2012年、25年間の現役から引退。現在は、自身が経営する株式会社侍、一般社団法人アスリートソサエティ、株式会社Xiborgなどを通じて、スポーツと社会、教育、研究に関する活動を幅広く行っている。

Born in Kumamoto Prefecture in 1976, Tom Kawada is a developer and a pioneer. He joined a sewing machine company in 1999, working on ideas that he had included in his “future resume,” including a parts ordering system that functions all over the world and patented technology that downloads online experiences to a sewing machine. In 2009, he formed AR 3 Brothers, where he acts as the oldest brother in both public and private matters.

Zajirogh works as a planner for a general contractor while writing manga and picture books during his daily commute. His manga rapid commuter underground is published by Shogakukan and was a Jury Selection at the 16th Japan Media Arts Festival. His picture book The Huge Train was published by Akane Shobo.

Chiaki Hayashi is the co-founder and is currently the Representative Director of Loftwork Inc. After graduating from Boston University with a degree in Journalism, she co-founded Loftwork inc. in year 2000. She manages the operation of the company’s creative platform Loftwork.com which has 25,000 creators registered, FabCafe which is a cafe with digital fabrication tools, and a material-centered co-working office MTRL. She is currently the Liaison to the Director of the MIT Media Lab, a panel of the Good Design Awards. She has recently founded “Hidakuma” which aims to rebuild nature and local creativity in Gifu, and serves as the President and CEO.

Shunji Yamanaka is a design engineer and professor at the Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies, University of Tokyo. After graduating from the University of Tokyo in 1982, he worked at Nissan before becoming a freelance designer in 1987. He founded Leading Edge Design in 1994. He taught at Keio University from 2008 to 2012, before joining the University of Tokyo in 2013. As a designer, his work includes everything from wristwatches to trains, while his work as an engineer includes robotics and communications. His academic research investigates new relationships between humans and objects, such as prosthetic limbs and robots that appeal to the senses. His many awards include the Mainichi Design Award in 2014, iF Product Design Award in Germany, and a Good Design Award. In 2010, his Tagtype Garage Kit was added to the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.

Yoshie Kris creates projects that connect different people and communities across various fields in art and design on the theme of discovering the extraordinary in the everyday. Since 2008, she has been involved with producing community performances in areas with declining populations. In 2010, she was diagnosed with osteosarcoma and lost the lower part of her right leg, which then led her to encounter welfare services for the disabled. She has been the director of the SLOW LABEL since 2011 and also served as general director of Yokohama Paratriennale 2014.

機械工学とプロダクトデザインをバックグラウンドに持つティム・グールチェンス。
彼は、2007年にデザインアカデミーアイントホーフェンを卒業後、Joris Laarman Labに勤務し、素材にまつわる幅広い知識と最先端の技術を進展させてきた。また、MX3Dの共同創業者ならびにCTOも務める。MX3Dは、6軸の産業用ロボットを用いて巨大な金属の物体を出力できる3Dプリンターを開発した企業で、現在、3Dプリンターでつくる世界初の金属橋脚をアムステルダムの運河に架けるプロジェクトに取り組んでいる。

Tim Geurtjens has a background in as well mechanical engineering as product design (Design Academy Eindhoven). Since his graduation in 2007 he has been working at Joris Laarman Lab, where he developed extensive knowledge of exotic materials and cutting edge technologies.

Tim is co-founder and CTO of MX3D, a company that develops large-scale 3D printers that use 6-axis industrial robots to print large metal objects. MX3D has recently taken up the ambitious project to produce the first 3D-printed metal bridge in the world over a canal in Amsterdam.

Daito Manabe founded Rhizomatiks in 2006, and since 2015 he has worked with Motoi Ishibashi on Rhizomatiks Research, which conducts projects for the purpose of R&D to a large extent. Also he carries out collaborative projects with artists in various genres making the most use of programming and interactive design. Manabe was acclaimed internationally as one of the eleven key persons, including John Maeda and Hans Zimmer, selected for a special website to celebrate 30 years of Mac by Apple Inc.

Born in 1975, Tomotaka Takahashi is a robot designer. In 2003, he graduated with a degree in engineering from Kyoto University, where he also set up his venture business Robo Garage. His major robot designs include the robotic telephone RoBoHoN, the robotic astronaut Kirobo, the weekly magazine kit Robi, and Evolta, a robot that climbed the Grand Canyon. He has won RoboCup, an international robotics competition, five times in a row. His work was chosen for Time Magazine’s Coolest Inventions of 2004 and the magazine Popular Science called him one of “33 people who will change the future.” He is CEO of Robo Garage, Co., Ltd., and a project associate professor at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, University of Tokyo.

Born in 1971, Kei Wakabayashi spent his childhood in London and New York. After graduating from Waseda University with a degree in French literature, he joined the publisher Heibonsha. There he worked on the editorial team for the monthly magazine Taiyo, handling articles related to wide-ranging aspects of culture, from traditional Japanese culture to cuisine, architecture, design, and literature. He became a freelance editor in 2000, working on magazines and corporate publications as well as exhibition catalogues and books. As a music journalist he writes articles about everything from free jazz to K-pop, and also works as a consultant for record labels. He has been the editor-in-chief of the Japanese edition of WIRED magazine since 2011. In his spare time he buys CDs from second-hand stores.

Creates videos, music, photographs and performance art works exploring how emerging technologies impact people and society. Her recent major works include a permanent pavilion in Benesse's art site for the third Setouchi Art Triennial in 2016. She is an assistant professor at the MIT Media Lab since 2013 where she founded the Design Fiction Group. In 2016 Sputniko! received the Special Award at the 11th L'ORÉAL-UNESCO Awards for Women in Science, and in April of the same year, she began hosting the TV program NHK Super Presentation. "The Power of Odd One Out" published by TAKARAJIMASHA, Inc. is among her recent publications.

Founder of teamLab was born in Tokushima City in 1977.He graduated from the University of Tokyo in 2001, from the Department of Mathematical Engineering and Information Physics. He attended the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Interdisciplinary Information Studies before leaving in 2004.

イラストレーター、広告プランニング、広告映像アートディレクターとしてフリーで活動後、平成３年ＮＨＫへ第1期キャリア採用で入局後、1994年～ＭＩＴ（マサチューセッツ工科大学）派遣、その後、ＮＨＫスペシャル「人体・脳と心」のアートディレクション、ＮＨＫロゴマークデザイン、、長野オリンピック国際発信公式映像 映像監督、ドラマ「ＤＲＥＡＭ ＴＶ　２００Ｘ」監督などに携わる。 1999年6月ＮＨＫ解説委員（芸術文化、デジタル関連担当）に就任。 2000年3月～デジスタナビゲーターを務め現在にいたる。 Ｇマーク（グッドデザイン賞）の審査委員／アジアデジタルアート大賞審査委員／北九州デジタルクリエーターコンテスト審査委員長／神戸ビエンナーレ審査委員などにも取り組む。また、アートとテクノロジーの融合を目的としたWEB TV「木曜新美術館」館長も務める。

A video art director and NHK news commentator for arts, culture and digital trends, Hide Nakaya was born in Kanagawa Prefecture and completed graduate studies on art research at Tokyo University of the Arts. After working as an illustrator, advertising planner and video advertising art director, he joined NHK in 1991. From 1994 he was sent to MIT and then later worked as a director, art director, logo designer and more for a range of NHK programs and other television projects. He has been a member of the news commentator bureau at NHK since June 1999 and a presenter for NHK since March 2000. He serves on the judging panel for many art and design awards and events, and also as the “museum director” for an Internet television show that aspires to integrate art and technology.
